Experience in areas related to polymer processing are a requirement. Experience and training in extrusion are highly desirable, but not required. Basic electrical and machine tool skills are also a requirement. Management experience in a high-tech manufacturing environment is highly desirable, but not required. Due to the continuous, round-the-clock nature of our production process, applicants should have a somewhat flexible schedule, with the ability to work odd hours on an occasional basis. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field is expected, but other applicants with exceptional background will be considered.

Chromis Fiberoptics has an immediate opening for a production operator in our polymer optical fiber manufacturing organization. The successful applicant will be responsible for operating extrusion manufacturing equipment and/or optical measurement equipment. Position will be approximately half-time, with an expectation of conversion to full-time in 3-6 months.
Production experience in a high-tech manufacturing environment is required, preferably in the area of optical communications. Excellent references from previous employers are a must. The successful applicant must have a flexible schedule, with the ability to work nights or extended hours on an occasional basis. An associate’s or technical degree is desirable, but not required.
